The 2022-2023 school year is off to a great start! As I visited campuses across the district, I enjoyed seeing our students so excited to be among friends and so eager to learn. Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to calm the inevitable hiccups that occur at the start of any new school year.

Here are this week’s updates and reminders.

Accessing Rooms: We appreciate your patience as we work to ensure that every family gets connected to our new app and Rooms, the classroom communication platform accessed through the app. We know that many of our families are still in need of getting registered for Rooms. The district will be sending another round of invitations to families that have not activated their Rooms accounts. Follow the steps in the invitation to create your account. Once you have set up your Rooms account through the invitation, you can log in to Rooms in the EUSD app on your mobile device or go to edurooms.com on a computer to log in. This guide for families provides assistance for completing the setup of accounts in Rooms. In addition, the app has been updated for iPhone users to fix a bug that was preventing parents from being able to see messages from teachers in their entirety. Please check the App Store to ensure that the app is updated on your device.

COVID update: We encourage you to review our updated COVID-related testing protocols for students who have symptoms, have tested positive, or are a close contact. At-home COVID test kits are available at all EUSD school health offices for any student who has symptoms of COVID or who has been in close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID. EUSD continues to follow the California Department of Public Health and the San Diego County Office of Education’s COVID-19 K-12 Guidance for Schools.

Media release: Every day, EUSD students are learning and creating in innovative ways, and we  are eager to share this work with you and the community via our new website and enhanced social media presence. As a reminder, a media release for your student is collected at the time of registration, with the option of opting out. No student personal information or identification is ever shared when we are showcasing students engaged in our programs. You may contact your child’s school front office if you would like to update your child’s media release status. We appreciate you letting us share their smiles!
