The Escondido Union School District Board of Education will hold a Public Hearing to discuss a

request for the California Department of Education to consider the sufficiency of the district’s

textbooks and instructional materials for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, consistent with the

state-adopted frameworks and the Williams Settlement Legislation. The Board is soliciting

input from parents and members of the community and welcomes your comments and

interest.

The public hearing will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the District

Office Board Room, 2310 Aldergrove Avenue, Escondido, California.

PUBLIC COMMENT REQUESTS: The public may address the board regarding an agenda item or

another topic that lies within the board’s jurisdiction. Persons wishing to address the board

should complete a “Request to be Heard” card located on the table at the entrance to the

boardroom. Prior to the opening of the meeting, place the completed card at the recording

secretary’s workstation. Please be apprised that regular meetings will be videotaped and

Board policy limits oral presentation to three minutes or less. An individual speaker may not

cede his/her time to another speaker. The board shall limit the total time for public input on

each item to 20 minutes. The Board of Education is prohibited by law from taking action on

matters discussed that are not on the agenda.
