Escondido Union School District to Fill Governing Board Vacancy
The Escondido Union School District is seeking applications from residents in Region 3 to serve as a board member. A candidate will be appointed to fill the vacancy until the next general election in November of 2028.
The board vacancy has occurred due to Board Member Mark Olson’s resignation effective July 24, 2026.
By law, the board has 60 days to make the appointment.
Interviews are scheduled to be conducted at the Board of Education Special Meeting, Thursday, September 3, 2026, 6 p.m. at Bear Valley Middle School, 3003 Bear Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA 92025. Those interested in being considered for appointment to this vacancy can download an application beginning July 31, 2026, at eusd.org or contact the Superintendent’s Office at 760.432.2110.
All applicants must be registered voters living within the boundaries of Region 3 in the Escondido Union School District.
