This notice serves as the District’s written findings of fact and staff recommendation regarding the Heritage K–8 Charter School renewal petition. In accordance with California Education Code Section 47605(b), this information is being published no later than April 8, 2026, on the District’s website and is available for public review at the District Office.
A public hearing regarding the Heritage K–8 Charter School renewal petition was held on March 19, 2026, during a regularly scheduled meeting of the Escondido Union School District Board of Education.
The Board of Education will consider the renewal petition and make a determination based upon the District’s staff recommendation at its regularly scheduled meeting on:

The meeting will be open to the public. Individuals wishing to address the Board must complete a “Request to be Heard” card available at the entrance to the boardroom and submit it to the recording secretary.
Public comments are limited to three minutes or 450 words per speaker. The Board may limit total public input on this item to 20 minutes.

District staff recommends that the Board of Education approve the renewal of the Heritage K–8 Charter School for a five-year term, beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2031.
