EUSD is committed to ensuring that we are the district of choice for the children of Escondido. As defined in the EUSD Framework for the Future, we have embraced elements of a learner-centered model that promises to be filled with innovative programming for our students. Professionals from all corners of the district continue to work collaboratively to lay the foundation for this framework, which sets up EUSD students to actualize their unlimited potential. In EUSD, we believe learning should be personalized, authentic, competency-based, and inclusive and equitable.  Take a look at this video to learn more about EUSD’s Framework for the Future.

Attendance - Every Day Counts!: As EUSD focuses on attendance for the 2024-25 school year, all school sites have been invited to participate in monthly attendance challenges.  Each month, the winning school site will have the honor of displaying a 5’ trophy in their school office. For the month of August, school sites were challenged to create exciting student engagement activities to welcome students back to school. Many of our schools participated and engaged students in fun activities such as: grade-level attendance competitions, school-wide assemblies and pep rallies, classroom door decoration contests, and spirit days, just to name a few.  While there were many amazing attendance activities throughout the district, one school stood out.  Congratulations to Central Elementary as the Attendance Competition Winner for the month of August.  Please take a minute to view their winning attendance video on the Central Elementary School website.

The attendance challenge for September is a district-wide poster contest. Contact your student’s school for more information.  Thank you for supporting your student’s school attendance, and remember that EVERY DAY COUNTS!

A Step Beyond for eligible 3rd and 4th grade students: ASB serves youth and families that qualify for free or reduced lunch with free after-school dance classes, academic support, and social services over the course of ten years.  Their goal is to create meaningful and lasting connections with students to support them from 3rd grade through high school and beyond.  A Step Beyond will be holding their open auditions on September 21 at Grape Day Park/CCAE for eligible 3rd and 4th grade students. Click on this link for the A Step Beyond flyer.

Preschool applications are still available!: EUSD State Preschool is still accepting online applications for the 2024-2025 school year. Visit the preschool website to access the application. Applications will be accepted for children who will be age 3 by December 1, 2024. If your child will turn 3 during the 2024-2025 school year, you can apply on or after their birthday. Preschool classes are available at seven EUSD elementary schools: Central, Juniper, Glen View, Lincoln, Oak Hill, Pioneer, and Rose. EUSD Preschool is offered through the California State Preschool Program and licensed through the California Department of Social Services. Eligibility for the program is based on household income; however, now families may qualify to participate in the EUSD State Preschool Program if they live within the boundaries of one of our sites.  In addition, students with IEPs also qualify for the State Preschool program.
