April 19, 2024

More than four dozen EUSD students were honored on Wednesday, April 17, by the Rotary Club of Escondido during its annual student awards event, held at Bear Valley Middle School.

Students in 5th and 8th grades are honored in two categories: Outstanding Achievement, which recognizes students for their academic success; and Service Above Self, which recognizes students who make contributions to their school, peers, or community. Each of our schools selects the students for this prestigious recognition by this venerable service organization, which is celebrating 100 years in Escondido.

Congratulations to our EUSD Rotary Awards recipients!

She has helped decorate, coordinate, and run schoolwide ceremonies for the past two years, ensuring that her fellow students feel celebrated and supported in their academic achievements. Her dedication, compassion, and willingness to serve are shining examples of what it means to make a difference in the world, and we are proud to honor her with the Service Above Self award."

With her determination and hard work, Evelyn is no doubt going to achieve great things in life. We are so proud that someone so bright, dedicated, and outstanding is a product of Mission Middle School. Evelyn, you no doubt make your family proud. Please know that you make your teachers and school proud as well."
