ROSE VISION
By nurturing passions and promoting creativity we aim to build a collaborative community that values
academic excellence while empowering individuals to make a meaningful impact on the world.
TK Parents/Parking Lot Pick Up/Loading Areas - Please remember that there is NO parking along the fence on the south side of the driveway in our parking lot. Remain in your cars if you are waiting to pick up a TK student after school. If you would prefer to get out of your car, please utilize both parking lots, to park safely. In addition, the front of the school is for loading/unloading only. Please do not exit your vehicle at the front of the school when dropping off or picking up your student. Drop-off and pick-up times are very busy and we must keep traffic flowing. Thank you for your cooperation!
School Staff Appreciation This Week (May 11-15) - Dear Families, we want to take a moment to honor and celebrate California Day of the Teacher, National School Nurse Day, and Education Support Professionals Day. This week is about honoring and celebrating the work that teachers, nurses, and education support professionals do every day, and the support and guidance they give to our students. Teachers and support staff do so much more than teach—they inspire, nurture, and believe in our students. Please consider sharing a kind word, a note of appreciation, or a simple “Thank you” to let them know how much their hard work means to our school community.
PTA Executive Board Mtg - Our next PTA meeting is tomorrow, Monday, May 11 at 2:45 pm in Room 24. All are welcome to attend. Join us for upcoming school information and student event planning.
School Spirit Day/Wear your Sunglasses/Shades - Our next school spirit day is this Thursday, May 14, 2026 to celebrate Sunglasses Day. Our Dolphins may wear their favorite shades because their future is so bright! This is an optional activity to promote school spirit. 😎
Physical Fitness Testing/Grades 5 and 7 - Physical Fitness testing is underway for 5th and 7th-grade students as required by the state starting on April 14, 2026 and ending on May 15. The main goal of the Physical Fitness Test, also called the PFT, is to help students start lifelong habits of regular physical activity. For complete details, view the official PFT notification here.
New Student Enrollment for 2026-2027 - Welcome to our school community! Online enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year officially opened on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. If you have a child who will be new to our district—whether they are starting Kindergarten, transferring from another school, or have recently moved to the area—we invite you to begin the enrollment process as soon as we open. Enrolling early helps us prepare the right staffing and resources to give your child the best start possible this fall.
Returning Student Registration for 2026-2027 - Annual registration for our returning students began on May 5, 2026. Please log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal on or after that date to update your child’s mandatory emergency card and contact information. Keeping this information current is essential for your child to participate in all EUSD programs for the upcoming school year. Note: Keep an eye on your inbox! We will be sending an email this week with easy-to-follow instructions to help you get started.
Preschool Applications - EUSD State Preschool will begin accepting online applications for the 2026-2027 school year beginning May 5, 2026. Visit the preschool website to access the application. Applications will be accepted for children who will be age 3 by December 1, 2026. If your child will turn 3 during the 2026-2027 school year, you can apply on or after their birthday. Preschool classes are available at seven EUSD elementary schools: Central, Juniper, Glen View, Lincoln, Oak Hill, Pioneer, and Rose. EUSD Preschool is offered through the California State Preschool Program and licensed through the California Department of Social Services. Eligibility for the program is based on household income; however, there are additional opportunities for families who may qualify to participate in the EUSD State Preschool Program based on residing within the boundaries of one of our sites. In addition, students with IEPs also qualify for the State Preschool program. To learn more, visit the EUSD Preschool website or email preschoolenrollment@eusd.org. For Special Education Preschool options, including our responsive interventions and inclusive programs, contact the team at spedsupport@eusd.org.
2026-27 Before and After School Program (BASP) Last Chance for Round 1 Applications - The Expanded Learning Program opened the 2026-27 Before-and After-School Program Interest Form on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. An email with details and a link to the form was sent to all current EUSD families. The form was also posted on our website, so families of incoming or new students may also express their interest. Please note that enrollment is not first-come, first-served. Our programs are funded through the California Department of Education (CDE), and priority enrollment will be given to foster/homeless youth, students eligible for free or reduced price meals, and English learners. If interest exceeds space available, a lottery will be conducted. While the interest form will remain open throughout the 2026-27 school year, the first round of applications will be reviewed in May. The deadline for form submission to be considered for Round 1 is Friday, May 8, 2026. 2026-27 Before and After School Program (BASP) Interest Form
Lost & Found - Our lost and found is overflowing again. If your student is missing sweaters or jackets, please have them check the lost and found or stop by to check the cart. Unclaimed items will be donated at the end of May.
Summer is on the horizon: As we head into the final month of the 2025-2026 school year, be sure to stay connected with your school site for the schedule of end-of-the-year events, including on-campus promotion ceremonies and the collection of all district-issued materials such as textbooks and iPads. Every school day counts when it comes to student success, and we appreciate your support of consistent student attendance for a strong finish to the school year. The last day of school for students is Wednesday, June 10. It is a minimum day for students with dismissal at 12:10 pm.

From the Nurse/Health Office:
Breakfast/Healthy Habits - Studies show that eating breakfast regularly improves attendance, raises test scores, enhances concentration, and lowers behavioral issues in the classroom. The phrase "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" isn't just a saying; it produces better brain function, memory, and attention, giving kids energy to start their day. Parents, if you are running late to drop off your student in the mornings and your student will not have time to sit and eat breakfast in the cafeteria, please remind them to stop by the breakfast grab-n-go cart in front of the school office/lunch tables to get a breakfast snack on their way to class. We want to ensure students are learning at their best!
Water/hydration - Please ensure your student has a water bottle with the increase in temperatures coming. Staff encourages students to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Medications, Illnesses, or Questions - If your student requires medications, is sick, or you have questions for our nurse, please do not hesitate to reach out by contacting the office.
Resources for Food Assistance - We want to make sure families are aware of local resources that offer free food and support for those who may need it. Here are a few options available in our community:
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need help connecting with these resources.
Safe Driving/Neighbor Driveways - Parents, we have seen an increase in families not adhering to the speed limits, traffic signals, and parking lot signs in and around the school in addition to drivers blocking the driveways of our school neighbors. It is imperative for everyone’s safety that you safely drive to school and be respectful of the homes of our neighbors.
Parking Lot Exit - As a reminder, during arrival and dismissal, drivers may only turn right out of our school parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation and support regarding this very important expectation.
Volunteer POD - Parents, we need your help. We are once again starting up our weekly Volunteer POD. This will take place on Wednesdays, in room 24. Volunteering your time impacts our school community in amazing ways! We hope you will be able to join us starting at 8:00 AM.
Join our PTA! - Our fabulous PTA needs your support! Membership is $10 per family and flyers were sent home last week. The PTA, or the Parent Teacher Association, is a network of parents, teachers, administrators, and community volunteers devoted to the educational success of our students and the promotion of family engagement in our school. The PTA sponsors and organizes family events, plans fundraisers, and funds programs such as art assemblies. In every endeavor, our PTA volunteers work together to enrich the lives of our students.
Breakfast and Lunch Menus: All EUSD students have access to no-cost breakfast and lunch. Families can view our new online menus. Select your school and menu to see what is being served every day.
That is all for now - have a great week!
