LLA Students Honored with EUSD Student Excellence Awards

On October 13th, the EUSD Board of Education meeting was adorned with three brilliant shining stars being recognized for the annual Student Excellence Awards:  Leilani Amaya (1st grade), Giovanni Brooks (5th Grade), and Zoeanna Hernandez (8th grade).  Our Liger Leaders made a wonderful impression on the audience as they were cheered on by their families, fellow students and teachers.  Our principal, Mr. Reichle,  made a brief presentation highlighting the strength of collaboration, creativity and innovation that our students have embodied at LLA.

Ms. Deramo wrote this about Leilani:

Leilani is a super star First Grade student! She always comes to class on time and is prepared to learn. She is an active participant in our class and always wants to answer any questions that I am asking. Leilani is also great at helping her classmates. On Zoom she will share her screen to help her classmates get where they need to go or to help me when I need to see a student view of a particular website. Leilani is also a student that comes in for on campus learning. In the classroom setting, she helps students that are lower than her academically with some of the activities that we work on and sets an example of what a respectful student looks like. Leilani is at or above grade level in our core subjects and goes above and beyond by extending her learning past what we do as a whole group.

Giovanni Brooks (left)

Ms. Stringfield wrote this about Giovanni:

When thinking of students who are Student Champions, we never look at just one area.  Scholars commit themselves to fully developing every part of their intellectual being.  That is the commitment seen in Limitless’s Giovanni Brooks.  From the beginning of the year, he has been an active participant in the classroom.  He is always on task, listening diligently to instructions and applying himself to his class work in all situations.  As a result, his work has been outstanding!  He has even succeeded in not only reaching, but exceeding his independent learning goals, and we haven’t even reached the end of the first trimester – an achievement only accomplished by the most distinguished scholars.  He is a voracious reader, a curious learner, a role model, and an inspiration to his peers and to his teacher.  It is each of these achievements that make Giovanni Limitless’s Student Champion.

Zoeanna Hernandez (left)

Ms. Magaña wrote this about Zoeanna:

Zoeanna Hernandez is a prime exemplar as a hybrid student. She completes her asynchronous work with care and in a timely manner. During class Zoeanna utilizes the Growth Mindset, participates, encourages her peers, takes diligent notes, and produces high quality work. Her positive mindset and strong work ethic inspire her peers and make her an ideal group member. She brings out the best in her group members because she sets high standards for herself while modeling excellence to her classmates. It is a pleasure to have Zoeanna in my class and I look forward to seeing her during in-person instruction on Tuesdays and Fridays. With that said, Zoeanna Hernandez is deserving of the EUSD Student Excellence Award. Congratulations Zoeanna!!!

We should be excited and proud that we have these representatives demonstrating the limitless potential being actualized for all of our students at LLA!!!
