EUSD

It’s hard to believe that we are heading into the final days of the 2021-2022 school year! Every school day counts when it comes to student success – including at the end of the school year. We appreciate your support and encouragement for consistent student attendance for a strong finish to the school year.

The last day of school for students is Tuesday, June 14. It is a minimum day for students. Please review the bell schedule for your child’s school.

Here are this week’s updates and reminders.

Materials return: Site principals will be sharing instructions for the collection of all district-issued materials, devices, and accessories, including textbooks, school library books, iPads, chargers and cords, and hotspots. Contact your school if your student is unable to attend on designated collection days. Students who are participating in an EUSD summer program will keep their district iPad and mobile hotspot until the conclusion of the program. For students who would like to transfer files from their iPad and EUSD Google Drive, view these tips.

Research project: Parents and guardians are invited to participate in a survey to support an EUSD school psychologist intern who is conducting research as part of their master’s degree program at National University. Participation is not required; the survey is voluntary, and responses will be kept anonymous to the degree permitted by the technology being used. The survey seeks input on the social-emotional and behavioral development impact of the pandemic related to school closures and remote learning. Click here to view the survey, which should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Promotion events: Be sure to stay connected with your school site for the schedule of end-of-the-year events, including on-campus promotion ceremonies.

COVID testing: The district’s drive-through COVID testing center will be open through Tuesday, June 14, for students, employees, and their household members. Testing is available Monday through Friday from 7 to 8 a.m and 2 to 4 p.m. at the Carilyn Gilbert Education Center, 2310 Aldergrove Avenue. Register here. The testing center will be closed for the summer. For additional COVID-19 testing and vaccination options, visit myturn.ca.gov, the County of San Diego COVID-19 website, or vaccinefinder.org; or check with a local pharmacy or community clinic.

New student registration: Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is now open for students in all grade levels who are new to the Escondido Union School District, whether they are entering Transitional Kindergarten or 8th Grade. We invite families new to the district to register their child for the upcoming school year at your neighborhood school of residence using our online registration process. Registration for returning students for the 2022-2023 school year will take place in July.
